In a land where demons roam the Earth , Guardians have always protected the settlement . The role has always been sink from father to son — until one Guardian ’s wife give birth to a daughter . So the physician and his help decide to quietly switch her with another sister , the new-sprung son of a local shop keeper .
The world of Ed Cho and Lee Cherolis’Little Guardianshas long survive accord to a simple , if reactive , organisation . Each village has a Guardian , who protects the village from the occasional demonic incursions . finally , the Guardian will have a Logos , whom he will groom to become the next Guardian of the small town , and so on .
But on the night that the Guardian Tane ’s married woman dies in childbirth , she gives birth to a daughter , not a son . Tane is away battling a devil at the prison term , and in the next elbow room , the married woman of Yunda , the storekeeper , give birth to their 2nd Word . So Doctor Marburger and Nurse Hazeldella make a choice they feel is best for the small town : they switch the infants , give Yunda a girl and Tane a son .

But unbeknownst to either Subira or Idem , trouble is brew in their macrocosm that could drive both of them to espouse their destinies . A woman named Soma — who , despite being a cleaning woman , seems to have the exponent of a Guardian — arrives in the settlement with tales of a monster USA imprint . She recognizes the same Guardian ability in Subira , and wants to school her , just as the other Guardians train their Word .
Little Guardians deals a lot with the tenseness between tradition and hunch , though it contend not to thoroughly condemn the former in favor of the latter . Tane is a youngster of custom , and custom has served him well . And , although he wants to stuff and nonsense and mould Idem into a perfect figure of speech of himself , he truly jazz the male child he has raise as his son . Idem might answer better to Soma ’s brand of preparation , which emphasizes a deep connection with one ’s spirit animal and negotiate with demons instead of jump off direct to fierceness , but it ’s hard to argue with Tane ’s result . It ’s potential Tane and Soma will need to rub off on each other in lodge to defeat the dangers ahead .
And this is n’t just the tale of a young lady who has been deprived of her birthright by a sexist society in favor of an inept son . After all , this is Little Guardians , plural form . Idem may not have been born with the innate power of a Guardian , but he has the desire to learn and has spent his life learn from Tane . This is n’t just Subira ’s story , but the story of two fry defy the expectations of the long - hold tradition that Guardianship passes from father to son . And with a fiend army on the upgrade , the world will call for as many Guardians as it can get .
