WHEDON : Right , and also the timeline is a little bit hedge in that we assume that the last couple of episode of our show take place during Infinity War . We ’re running in a lot of veridical - time at the end of the season .
So what did we get in the end ? Well , we got an episode of Agents of SHIELD , and a bloody good one at that . “ The End”—which the producers have said was written like it could be the very last episode of the show , full stop — still had the spirit of being an excellent sendoff to team up SHIELD .
There was a ton of dramatic weightiness that make up off in this episode , including Coulson and Daisy ’s transmissible family relationship , Daisy ’s fighting with Talbot ( and , err , blasting him off into space Team Rocket - flair ) , and in the squad wriggle with the dilemma of whether it should save Coulson ’s pass life or or else safeguard the entire earth from destruction at Tablot ’s hands . Even the tragical turn of Fitz dying to relieve Mack , after he was so certain he was immortal because of some very rarify - to - explicate timeline stuff , feel like meet endpoint for the journeying he ’s gone on from dweeby science lab technical school to unlimited submarine over the last five seasons .
