boygeniusadded some tricks and treats into their Halloween show.

During Tuesday night’s concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, the indie supergroup featuring Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus brought outDave GrohlofFoo Fightersto play drums on a song. The rockstar, 54, who drummed inNirvana, returned to the kit to play the trio’s song “Satanist.”

Grohl rocked out on the drums, which were elevated on a platform behind the three singer-songwriters at the front of the stage. His performance of the indie-rock song off the group’s debut albumthe recordwas sharp and thrilling.

The “Aurora” musician’s energy seemed to fuel the band, who was shredding on the guitars — so much so that Bridgers lost her halo and veil.

The concert was a special occasion, as it marked one of the group’s biggest shows to date and saw Grohl return to the drum kit, as he did in Nirvana.

The rocker also recorded the drums onBut Here We Are, Foo Fighters’ 11th studio album that dropped in June and marked their first release since their drummerTaylor Hawkins died at age 50in 2022.

Grohl isn’t the only star that boygenius has linked up with. The group, who has had an exponential rise in popularity since releasing their acclaimed album, joinedBillie Eilishat anintimate, last-minute London club showin August.

When Bridgers was opening for a stint ofTaylor Swift’sEras Tourin the spring, she brought out her bandmates at the Nashville tour stop to perform their song “Cool About It,” as well as some of thePunisherartist’s solo track.

Just several months after the indie trio’s album release, they surprised fans with the four-track EPthe reston Oct. 13.
