DJ Matthew Dear teamed up with General Electric acoustic engine driver Andrew Gorton to sample the tones created by the churn of “ thousands ” of dissimilar GE machines , from turbine to medical equipment . The sounds were then chopped up and reassembled into “ Drop Science , ” a frenetic , punctilious music experiment .
Matthew Dear ’s career in weirdo medicine has taken him in a of directions , but this novel collaboration ( read : promotional spot ) with General Electric is fairly remarkable , even if only as an representative of his composition and production skills . It ’s always compelling to get wind music that ’s meet fromsounds collected in the real human beings , but beyond the common thingamajig , “ Drop Science ” is impressive for the scurf of the project . There are just so many different phone that collecting them alone is an achievement . What might make “ Drop Science ” brilliant , however , is that the massive collection is so dextrously dovetail into a beautiful software program .
