The Dorothy Collective’s“Horror Star Chart”depicts 135 of movie theatre ’s most iconic revulsion pic as constellations , the constituent stars of which take their names from actors and filmmakers who impart their endowment to each rubric .
A nice touch : The chart is based on the star topology visible in the Berlin sky the night of March 4 , 1922 , during the premier of F.W. Murnau ’s silent vampire moving picture , Nosferatu . Other titles featured let in :
… those chosen for conservation in the US National Film Registry due to their cultural , historical , or aesthetic significance and a few personal favourites include : early understood films ( The Cabinet of Dr Caligari , Nosferatu and The Phantom Of The Opera ) , Universal Monsters from the 30 ’s featuring Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff ( Dracula , Frankenstein , The Mummy ) , Hammer classic ( Dracula and Captain Kronos – Vampire Hunter ) , forerunners of the slasher submarine genre in the 60 ’s ( Peeping Tom and Psycho ) , supernatural thrillers of the 70 ’s ( The Exorcist , The Omen , Carrie ) , video ‘ nasties ’ vilified by the media in the 80 ’s ( Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Evil Dead ) through to the recent Zombie revitalization ( 28 day Later ) .

The Dorothy Collective has a few other versions of the Horror Star Chart available . Some even beam in the dark . Check them out here .
