Taylor’s got the Midas touch.
“It’s had an amazing effect,” Andrews tells PEOPLE of Swift’s support. “Not just on our Kansas City Chiefs stuff, but I’m getting DMs and mentions in pictures of women in our Ohio State gear, our Miami Dolphins gear, our baseball gear as we’re in the World Series. They’re like, ‘Well if Taylor Swift is going to wear it, I’m going to wear it!’ So it’s just been pretty fascinating and so cool to watch.”
She adds, “Obvious anything she touches [is gold].”
The FOX Sports reporter, who also hosts the podcastCalm Downwith her friend fellow sportscaster Charissa Thompson, says she came up with the idea for the brand after realizing there was a gaping hole in the industry when it came to fashionable fan gear for women.
“Look, I’m a huge sports fan. I married an athlete,” she says, of husband Jarret Stoll, a former pro hockey player. “I knew there was a need for other women out there to have this,” she says.
Despite plenty of doors shutting in her face when she was getting started, she says she persevered.
“I just kept pushing. I’m so grateful that I’ve had this team around me that people believed in me. And honestly that’s why, when I turned on the television and saw Taylor Swift wearing our jacket, I cried. I was jumping up and down screaming, because I remembered all the people that said to us, ‘You’re stuff isn’t elevated enough. I don’t think our buyers will be interested in this. You’re a big name, not that big of a name to push a line.'”
She adds with a laugh, ‘So it was like my Matt Damon moment: ‘How about them apples!’
