The thought of being ditch at sea is n’t as terrible as being leave behind in space . At least when you equate the trailers for Open Water and Alfonso Cuarón ’s latest , Gravity . The synopsis for this distance odyssey goes something like this :
Dr. Ryan Stone ( Sandra Bullock ) is a vivid medical technologist on her first shuttle missionary station , with veteran cosmonaut Matt Kowalsky ( George Clooney ) . But on a seemingly workaday spacewalk , disaster strikes . The shuttle is destroyed , leave Stone and Kowalsky completely alone — tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness . The deafen silence tells them they have mislay any data link to Earth … and any chance for saving . As concern change state to panic , every gulp of melodic phrase wipe out out at what slight oxygen is left . But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrific expanse of space .
