Bean dip took on a whole new meaning onLove Is Blindseason 6 — and now Clay Gravesande is weighing in.

“I think I said my reaction … when he said it initially, I was just like, ‘Bro, what are you talking about?'” Clay, 31, recalls. “But me and Jeramey have had weird banter where we kind of talked about that type of stuff. So it didn’t really throw me off. I was just surprised that Jeremy said that right there at that time period, but I wasn’t surprised that he said it.”

Jeramey, 32, was chatting with Jimmy Presnell, Clay and AD, 32, about how his engagement with Laura Dadisman was going so far when he brought up the “bean dip” joke between the women.

“She told me to do it to you, and I was like, ‘I’m gonna get f—ing canceled!'” he told AD, who was clearly shocked and responded, “Do not, I will fight you.”

As Jeramey joked that Laura was “trying to set me up for some bulls—,” AD explained to Clay and Jimmy that “a bean dip is like this t–ty smack … [Laura] smacked the s— out of my t–ties.”

AD eventually walked away from the conversation, but soon returned with Laura, who came over to clarify. As Clay quipped that Laura’s joke “offended me,” Laura told Jeramey that he was “making something out of nothing” and reiterated that she only said it “in a joking way.”

Speaking to Laura privately after the awkward conversation, AD told her, “I think it’s funny to us, but to Clay — it’s not funny.”

Laura then responded, “I need Clay to f—ing relax” — which did not sit well with AD. “Hold on, not relax because telling another man to…” AD said, making a gesture to slap her breast.

Again, Laura insisted it was “a f—ing joke,” and AD pointed out, “Well he doesn’t know the joke … [it may be] nothing to you, but [it’s] something to him.”

Clay and Jeramey also talked it out, with Clay telling his costar, “I’m not gonna blame you.” Jeramey then noted, “Your woman might have taken it offensively, and I apologize for that.”

“She’ll be good, I’ll reel her in,” Clay responded.

Despite the tense moment between the women on camera, AD tells PEOPLE that she and Laura were totally fine after the joke gone wrong and that it did not change their friendship.

“I don’t really relish on that moment too much because it didn’t really affect me,” AD says. “And I’m kind of shocked that it affected them so much. So, I don’t really think about that often. … It was a girl’s thing that translated and went left, I guess.”
