On Valentine’s Day, Melton had fans losing it when he showed off a tattoo that read “Cami.”
The nickname, short for Camila, was placed on the left side of his chest.
After a number of fansexpressed their excitementover Melton’s profession of love on Twitter, Mendes cleared the air. “The tat is fake lol thought it was obvious from the sticky patch around it but guess not,” Mendestweeted.
The actress also wrote “it’s fake you guys…” over a photo of the tattoo on her Instagram Stories.

Real or fake, the gesture is still pretty sweet.
“Mine,” she captioned the post.
Mendes plays Veronica Lodge and Melton plays Riverdale High School football captain Reggie Mantle on the show.
The romantic post comes after Mendes and Melton have been spotted out several times together, including on a weekend getaway with fellowRiverdalecostarCole Sprouseearlier this summer.
And it seems the rest of the cast is supportive of the relationship.Lili Reinhart, who is also dating fellow costar Sprouse, 26, commented a flower emoji on Mendes’ post, while Vanessa Morgan wrote “OBSESSED!”

“I’m sorry you had to find out this way,” Mendes responded.
Mendes was last linked to Victor Houston, but the twocalled it quitsin August after a few months of dating.
