The actor, 43, dressed in a hot pink suit and black cowboy hat, kicked off his performance of the Oscar-nominated song “I’m Just Ken" from the audience, where hisBarbiecostarMargot Robbiecouldn’t contain her laughter as he sang directly to her.

The tracks are up against “The Fire Inside” fromFlamin’ Hot, “It Never Went Away” fromAmerican Symphonyand “Wahzhazhe (A Song For My People)" fromKillers of the Flower Moon.

Although Gosling doesn’t receive credit if the song wins — that honor goes to Ronson and Wyatt — theBarbiestar was recognized in the Best Supporting Actor category for his performance as Ken (the award ultimately went toOppenheimer’sRobert Downey Jr.). His nod for the box-office hit marks his third at the Academy Awards, with the last coming in 2016 for the musicalLa La Land.

“I’m Just Ken” won best original song at this year’sCritics Choice Awards, elicitinga confused expressionfrom Gosling that went viral on social media. During Ronson and Wyatt’s acceptance speech, the duo gave the actor a shoutout for his “matchless performance.”
